A Career Shaped by Curiosity
Alex didn’t set out to join the coworking and flex industry but her fascination with people, connection, and space led her there. With a background in sociology and a university job writing for startups based in coworking spaces, it didn’t take long for her to realise where her real interest lay.
“I quickly became more interested in the environments they were working in than the work I was actually doing… I was captivated by the sense of possibility that coworking offered for people, personally as well as professionally.”
That curiosity sparked a career built around building better spaces for better business.
Why Representation Matters
Alex is a firm believer that representation in leadership isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s essential.
“Space-making is deeply human work. To create environments where everyone feels they belong, we need leadership that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.”
When leadership reflects a range of lived experiences, we make better decisions and design spaces that work for everyone.
Her Go-To Career Advice?
“You can’t grow in your comfort zone. Don’t wait until you feel 100% ready… say yes, then figure it out.”
It’s advice that’s helped her take bold steps throughout her career, and it’s something she encourages others to do, too.
Why Women in Flex Matters
The flex space industry may be more progressive than traditional real estate, but there’s still work to be done. For Alex, Women in Flex is about building something that lasts:
“This platform reminds us that progress doesn’t happen in isolation, we need to actively identify and champion allies, break down silos and work across disciplines to build workspaces that are genuinely inclusive and forward-thinking.”
Being an Ambassador
For Alex, it’s about responsibility — not just visibility.
“It means creating space for honest conversations, challenging the status quo and ensuring that DEI is not an add-on but at the core of how we shape the future of work.”
It’s a reminder that leadership is as much about listening as it is about leading, and that meaningful change is a shared commitment.
If you’re passionate about shaping more inclusive, future-facing workspaces, we’d love you to be part of the journey.
